These smart domains, including .hbar, are built into the native L1 layer on Hedera and allow consumers to access designated resources on Web2 and Web3 whenever an address is typed into a web browser. The team launches its beta platform and Chrome extension app to enable wallet support and dApps integrations within the Hedera ecosystem. Once a user’s wallet is connected, Web23’s Chrome extension automatically provides backend APIs and smart contracts to assigned dApps, SDKs, domain name and wallet IDs to complete any transaction. The company is starting with smart and .hbar domains, but plans to release first-party account privacy and security features, social verification tools, and tokenized coupon integrations through their platform down the road.
