Senior IPS officers appointed in seven ranks to oversee enforcement


The additional director general of police, Bhaskar Rao, head of the railway police, is among seven senior officers tasked across the state’s seven ranks with overseeing and enforcing COVID-19 guidelines.

While Mr. Rao will be in charge of the northern chain comprising the districts of Vijayapura, Bagalkot and Belagavi, ASN Murthy, general manager of the Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation, has been in charge of the Ballari chain comprising the districts of Ballari and Raichur. Hemanth Nimbalkar, IGP, IGP Civil Rights and Enforcement Directorate (DCRE), was responsible for the western range, including the southern districts of Canara and Udupi.

Amrit Paul, ADGP, Recruitment, was in charge of the southern chain comprising the districts of Mysuru, Mandya and Hassan and Arun J. Charkarvathy, ADGP, Homeland Security, was in charge of the northern chain comprising the districts of Bidar and Kalaburagi.

Seemanth Kumar Singh, ADGP, ACB, was in charge of the central range which includes Bengaluru Rural and Tumakuru while Umesh Kumar, ADGP, CID, was in charge of the eastern range which includes Shivamogga and Davanagere.

Officers are expected to visit their respective areas immediately to ensure and oversee enforcement and submit a report to DG-IGP by April 26. said Director General and Inspector General of Police Praveen Sood.
