Mysuru MP rants at IPS social media fan pages and IAS officers



Mysuru MP Pratap Simha stood out on the social media fan pages of IPS and IAS officers.

Speaking during a program organized to inaugurate the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) office at Hebbal in Mysuru on August 20, Mr. Simha described the contents of the fan pages of the IPS and the IPS offices. IAS as their “claims”.

Referring to the photographs of police officers wielding a lathi on the pages with descriptions like “Super Cop” and “Top Cop”, he said, “What job are they doing?

He accused a former Hassan deputy commissioner, whom he did not name, of scuttling a central government road project connecting Hassan to Maranahalli. Although a 45 km long cement road was sanctioned by the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015-16, the works have yet to be carried out. He accused the former deputy commissioner of Hassan, who would claim to be an “honest” person and a “paragon of virtue”, of failing to award a career to the company that had obtained the contract to facilitate work on the road project.

He said IAS officers like a district deputy commissioner should not just sit in the office, but get permission to acquire land for various projects. He said Mysuru deputy commissioner Bagadi Gautham was doing a good job.

He said deputy commissioners should keep a Twitter account, where their work should be posted regularly.

He urged the additional chief secretary of the IT&BT department, Ramana Reddy, who was sitting on the dais with the Minister of IT & BT, Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, to take action to stop the fan pages of the agents of the ‘IPS and IAS.
